00 / The arrival
Independent Research & Documentation
Outside the story. Inside the record.
There is what happened.
There is what people say happened.
And there is what can be established.
The distinction is not always obvious.
That is where Third Party begins.
01 / The observer
We are the third party.
Not a participant. Not an authority. Not the final word.
Third Party is an independent research and documentation project. It examines public information from outside the events being documented—without claiming privileged access or the authority to determine guilt or innocence.
Not above the story. Not beyond scrutiny.
Outside it, looking closer.
02 / The curiosity
Because the details don’t disappear.
They get lost.
Statements are repeated. Context changes. Sources disappear. Public narratives evolve, sometimes faster than the record can be examined.
Preserving source material makes it possible to return to the original account, distinguish a report from a finding, and see what remains unknown.
03 / The practice
A basis for looking closer.
- 01
Locate
Find the original record and identify where a claim begins.
- 02
Verify
Examine provenance, context and limitations. Distinguish what a source establishes from what it does not.
- 03
Connect
Trace documented relationships without treating proximity or association as proof. A connection is not a conclusion.
- 04
Preserve
Keep source material and its context available for examination, subject to privacy and publication safeguards.
04 / The responsibility
We follow the evidence.
Not the expectation.
A fact, an allegation, an association, an inference and a documented conclusion are not interchangeable. Uncertainty belongs beside the information—not hidden beneath it.
Accuracy requires correction. Fairness requires context. Privacy requires restraint. The inclusion of a person or organization does not imply wrongdoing; the presumption of innocence remains fundamental.
Every claim has an origin. Every source has a limitation.

This is where the work began.
It does not define where it ends.
